Description

Many clinicians lack familiarity with OCD and related OC spectrum disorders such as body dysmorphic disorder, hypochondriasis, trichotillomania and tic disorders. Thus, the goal for this program is to teach clinicians to recognize these disorders and understand current biological and cognitive-behavioral interventions. The program also includes discussion of psychosurgery as a next-step strategy for patients who remain symptomatic after initial intervention with medications and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Describe symptoms of OCD and related disorders
  • Summarize biological treatment approaches for OCD and related disorders
  • Describe cognitive and behavioral interventions for OCD and related disorders
